In response to the growing anti-institution sentiment pervasive in our culture, the Museum of Sex seeks to engage a group of select street artist to occupy the museums third floor gallery. With F*ck Art, the museum intends to expand upon existing notions of the museum-going experience by pushing the boundaries of what artists create in a museum environment.
The Museum is not intended as a venue for the timid. In fact, proposing artists are encouraged to mine the fringes of society and to use the gallery space as a forum to create critical, provocative commentary around sexuality and its relationship to both human and cultural identity.

F*ck Art is intended to be viewed as a work-in-progress in which visionary street artists paint, paste and manipulate the space — wall, ceiling and floor — in real time over the course of two weeks. The evolving show will be open to the public during museum hours, thereby offering a glimpse into the creative process.
Proposals — due by January 12th — must include a visual representation of the suggested artwork as well as a brief description of the piece in writing, including an estimate of all related costs. While digital proposals are encouraged, please limit file sizes to 7MB when submitting to msynder(at)museumofsex(dot)com and include F*ck Art in the subject line. Galleries will be delivered empty and white for artists, though it should be noted that the gallery walls are covered with a textured surface which may be painted and/or installed over.
